April Poetry Challenge Day One

Forgot to mention that I’m doing an April Poetry Challenge with my bestie. One poem a day for all of April. Here’s my first one!

The Fool

    Take a good look around

    You fool

For orange liar has his hooks

    In you

    The grifts this conman hawks

    You buy

Not one time have you asked

    But why?

    He holds up the Bible

    And claims

    His own favorite book

    King James

Not one verse has he read

    All through

    But it’s easy to lie

    To you

    He’ll sell you nasty steak

    Well done

    Useless college courses

    Have fun

    Everything he will touch

    Is shit

Seems that he is so full

    Of it

He’d kill you if it brought

    Him fame

    He’ll gladly mock the sick

    And lame

    There’s not a thought within

    His head

    That doesn’t end with him

    Ahead

    He’ll sell you sneakers and

    Pixels

    While handing Russia our

    missiles

He’s got you good, you sad

    Old man

    Conning you was always

    His plan

And now you’re stuck, you can’t

    Get out

    Sunk cost has you flailing

    About

    So hang on tight, silly

    Old fool

    Cuz orange liar isn’t done

    With you
