Poem Day 3
Rain
Transparent drops splatter the windshield
Light at first
Growing in intensity
Now, streams pour down the window
Like creeks
Then stronger, faster
Rivers.
It started as a morning mist
A pleasant sprinkle
Now a deluge
For hours, it goes
Swelling ponds and lakes
Backing up on the streets
Turning all grass into marshy muck
Then suddenly, it stops
Happy flowers drink their fill
Trees explode in blooms of pink and white
Rain has come to renew
