Day 25 Poem: Oregon

My God, I miss the mountains
The valleys and the peaks
The bubbling spring fountains
The rippling green creaks

I miss the flowing snowmelt
The panoramic view
I miss seeing Orion’s Belt
And the skies so very blue

I miss driving for hours
From high desert to lush greens
I miss the Fort Rock Tower
And the endless ocean scenes

I miss Columbia River
And the Willamette river too
What gives me quite a shiver
Is Crater Lake’s sapphire hue

I miss the desert landscape
The Rimrocks, trees, and sage
I miss Mt. Bachelor’s fine shape
The Three Sisters were all the rage

I miss West of the Cascades
Portland and Eugene
I miss the flowing grass blades
And critters jumping in between

I miss my homestate dearly
All its beauty and splendor
I’d love to visit yearly
And then miss it all the more.
