I’m sorry, I can’t eat that
Nor that pastry behind the glass
Wow, it looks delicious,
the smell exquisite
I’ll have to pass

What are the ingredients?
Ah, I’m afraid this just won’t do
No, I don’t eat beetles
Or honey, or kangaroo

I’ve never been to a desert island
I have never killed a pig
I don’t just survive on veggies
Be a lot cooler if I did

Do you think you could kill a sheep
With bare hands if you needed?
Could you say it would not be hard
To fight it as it bleated?

I don’t just do it for my health
As you can see from my double chin
If I had the world’s wealth
The suffering of animals would end

I don’t do it just to judge you
I used to eat meat and dairy too
One day the thought of doing so
Turned me rather blue

But all my closest loved ones
Continue to dine on meat
I cannot force or stop them
To change the way they eat

Nor would I ever try to
For that’s just not the way
You cannot shift how others
Will live their day to day

So now I turn down most foods
The majority, it’s true
I have to be so careful
It’s just what I choose to do

It’s the lifestyle that works for me
And for many others as well
A gal can dream for the world to change
To a lifestyle just as swell.
