I love movies with premonitions and prophecies, with the idea that something grand must come to pass. While it’s fun to imagine all of this in real life, I can’t say that I truly believe in it. Little moments in our past surely create big moments in our future, but to claim they are preordained is an inherently flawed belief. We are not a book being written by a supreme being, characters played around with for the author’s amusement.

That said…

The Bible speaks of the antichrist. A charismatic leader who is truly a conman. He gains political and religious influence across the world. Claims divine authority (a false messiah). Persecutes Christians and opposes God’s law. Enforces a system of control/identification (the mark of the beast).

In my mind, Trump matches all of these qualities to the T.

A charismatic leader, who despite speaking in cruel word salad, shitting himself on the daily, and being everything that Christians presumably stand against with his cheating, incest, and rape, has drawn in millions of followers across the globe. His influence is both political and religious, with numerous people praying with and for him as though he were some great religious figure. People actually worship him. His followers wear the red hats, the mark of the beast himself. And as of late, he has persecuted many of his Christian followers by firing them from their jobs without cause in order to fill the coffers of himself and his closest advisors

The man is an absolute menace who has avoided any penalty for his myriad crimes. I do not believe there will be a second coming of Jesus to defeat him, but perhaps a less literal interpretation of his downfall.

True evil has no place in this world, and may the fate of good defeat it sooner than later, as the alternative is unthinkable!
