Night Owls pt 7

As Gabriel prepares his basement for Ravi’s arrival, he realizes how very little he still knows about the man. Chewing on his lower lip thoughtfully, he looks around, wondering what Ravi’s favorite color is.

He’s seen the inside of Ravi’s home, seen a rainbow of colors throughout, but he would be unable to pinpoint any particular one used more than the others. He suspects that with how busy Ravi always is, working night and day, he barely has time to care about much else, let alone decorating to his favorite color. Indeed, his tiny apartment is quite the mess.

There are many reminders of his parents who had died five years ago in a strange car accident, a fact that Gabriel had discovered through conversation, internet research, and old newspaper clippings in Ravi’s home.

Gabriel had seen the marks on Ravi’s wrists as he slept fitfully in a tank top, unaware of Gabriel’s presence. The marks a sign that he had fought depression and very nearly lost after the death of his parents. A hurt that Gabriel has every intention of taking away from the man with seemingly no family and no friends.

Just his father’s legacy to secure.

Perhaps, when Gabriel has turned him, Ravi will finally have the time to discover what he truly loves, what colors bring him real happiness.

Gabriel imagines he will find out soon enough.
