There seems to be
An infestation
One that fills me
With detestation
A parasite
Has taken hold now
Disgusting blight
We cannot allow
It trickles down
From way up on high
Infects the ground
The rivers, the sky
It rips apart
Families and friends
Stresses the heart
The soul, it condemns
Most parasites
Try to kill the host
This one will bite
Til it kills the most
Never ending
Til it’s conquered all
Still extending
Until all do fall
It comes in forms
To try and hoodwink
Those nasty worms
That slither and slink
It’s sentient
Though it barely thinks
Will raise your rent
While your income sinks
Its stranglehold
Seems all consuming
It’s more than told
us what it’s doing
At times it feels
Like we can’t fight it
But then reveals
Weakness inside it
It sure needs us
More than we need it
Will cause a fuss
If we give it shit
The time to fight
Is now or never
To do what’s right
We can endeavor
And when we kill
This sick wretched leech
With all our will
We will have to reach
Throttle the next
Again and again
Lay forth the text
That this is the end
This is one host
That it will not best
This I can boast
We will teach this pest.
