Day 4 Poem

Wind

Sometimes she whistles
And sometimes she howls
She buffets and batters
She whimpers and growls

Some days she tickles
And some days she gusts
Some days she rampages
And on others, she dusts

Some nights she raises
All the hairs on your neck
Some nights she’s silent
As you drift off in bed

But when she gets angry
You better watch out
She’ll rip all the shingles
Right off of your house

She’ll tear up the road
Throw down power-lines
Loud as a freight train
She’ll toss Maples and Pines

You can hide underground
You can cower in fear
But you’ll have no reprieve
When she rages near

So show some respect
To this tempestuous queen
This true force of nature
Roaring, unseen.
